quality reflection improving systems and processes
why qrisp?
qrisp is designed to make the work of quality and safety simpler. It harnesses the whole team to help ensure policies and processes are embedded in daily practice or renewed where they are barrier to safe practice. qrisp is not intended to replace formal HR processes, complaints reporting, or be used in line management of staff but can support these functions by drawing insights and learning from feedback.

qrisp eases organisations into a fresh way of thinking about quality and safety ...
-
Softening the language: qrisp softens the language of reporting critical events. Taking the emotion out of managing mistakes, the language used allows us to move beyond blame, guilt or shame to a productive, reflective, problem solving conversation
-
Offering an invitation: qrisp invites people to bring their most professional selves to a conversation about quality and safety. It introduces and cultivates a mindset of being invited to share perspectives, and to be heard
-
Capturing near misses: qrisp encourages teams to shine a light on systems by recording near misses. qrisp makes it easy to capture this rich data and feed it back into the organisation’s reflective learning
-
Supporting positive conversations: qrisp recognises the importance of connecting with colleagues and taking time to reflect and discuss. The tool allows managers to create focused agendas adding value to meetings
-
Closing the loop: qrisp provides users, team and managers with confidence that each learning point, whether consumer feedback, a near miss or a good idea, will be reflected on and learnt from

qrisp features

-
threshold - you as manager can set the threshold for your QLPs. Most practices request all incidents causing harm be recorded, be they harm from health and safety / privacy breach / clinical process. We recommend requesting that teams actively notice, record and reflect on near misses - the learning from these can be invaluable. In additional to this clinical governance work the qrisp tool can also be used to log organisational learning, be it as a seed bed for good ideas, a home for PDSA or audit cycles. Some teams use it as a mechanism for all feedback within the organisation, the wellbeing and productivity tabs allow for professional reflection on the stress and strains that we deal daily in practice.

-
tempo - you can set the pace for this work of organisational reflective practice. When can teams members expect to have their QLP read, tabled or otherwise processed? Let them know. How frequently do your teams need to meet, connect, reflect, discuss? Set your meeting calendar to suit you. As organisations we are constantly learning and adapting, however growth and change are gradual, learning needs to be embedded, new systems take time to get used to. There are approaches for rapid organisational change, qrisp is a longterm and steady

-
tortoise and the hare - there are plenty of short-term approaches and techniques for transformational, organisation change. While not promising that sort of radical change, qrisp can lend support to these initiatives and help see leaning and change embedded over time in an organisation's culture. To be clear qrisp is the tortoise in this narrative. We are interested in the quiet work of maintenance, ensuring safe systems and process that support best practice.

-
titration - some of your team will grasp the qrisp process and produce QLPs with quality reflection and useful suggestions. The qrisp approach is positive, a simple QLP can be received, appreciated and a manger can gently offer insight and feedback letting each team member develop the quality of QLP they are bringing to the organisational conversation.
